Carol Schram: Vancouver Canucks: Sizing Up The First Half of the 2016-17 Schedule After a challenging first half in their 2015-16 schedule, the first three months of the upcoming season looks like it's much more balanced for the Vancouver Canucks.

Sportsnet Pacific broadcasts are available only in B.C. and the Yukon, and I believe the seven games that appear on Sportsnet Vancouver can only be picked up in the lower mainland.... Also, there are two games tagged for Sportsnet One and four for Sportsnet 360. Those are national broadcasts, but aren't included in all cable packages.

I'm pretty sure that the Sportsnet Vancouver games are available to all of B.C. and the Yukon if you subscribe to Sportsnet One. It is just regional games that aren't on Sportsnet Pacific because of other scheduled programs (usually Baseball).

Thx so much Carol.

Being a Nuck fan in Alberta kinda sucks as you pretty much have to buy the centre ice package to round out and watch all the Canucks broadcasts.

When SN acquired all the rights was kind of hoping that ALL CDN NHL team games would be nationally broadcast for all to see but they had to keep it regionalized so they can gouge the viewership...sucks...

Thanks Carol.....Great read, and put last years season into perspective. Along with injuries, bad puck luck and crummy travel, was a recipe for disaster. High hopes for the team this year, but tempered with a realist attitude. Hopefully Hank has healed up, (looked like he was really having a rough time on faceoffs), we get a full year of Sutter and Edler, and with a more balanced road schedule.....how can we not be better than last year.

(not counting prospects and signings until we see what they do on the ice)

I still don't understand why sportsnet doesn't allow a person to chose which region they want to view ...you get sportsnet pacific and I get sportsnet west ...seems like a good idea to me

I think it is more the NHL and the broadcast contract with sportsnet.

but yeah, I don't understand it either. I guess it is all about the centre ice package or whatever it is called.

It just seems funny that you can watch so many nfl games on tv regardless of where you are watching from.

Agreed with the nfl

To me ratings would go up for sportsnet so I don't know why they wouldn't go after that option with the NHL

I guess it is centre ice ad and subscription revenue vs sportsnet ad revenue...

Your right ...so typical ...who cares about the fans

The best part is most won't buy center ice and just stream the games off different websites on the Internet ...so in the end the NHL loses more than gains

I think rogers was giving free access to their cell phone customers.

but yeah, if consumers feel they are being taken advantage of, they go to other options like grey market streaming which is apparently legal in Canada.

Well actually you can, thanks so much for offering this is really big of you....so could you please go to all the leafs blogs (:yuckand ask all their fans to stay well clear of the canucks blog, even if by chance a canucks poster makes a reference about a leafs ( ) player. I know it's like heroin to you guys, and you're all jittery and scratching at scabs, but cold turkey is the best policy here.

Thanks CC you're awesome for doing this...oh BTW you don't need to report back your progress if fact you don't need to come back at all, thanks again, see ya

Come on RC I was watching with amusement, and thought it was a nice distraction from the eating our own that was going on in here.
